About the Society

Founded on a simple conviction.

That unity, cooperation, mutual assistance and collective action are what actually advance people and their communities — socially and economically. Everything below follows from that.

The preamble

Why we associated

Founding members of the Society meeting together

The founding members of MutualRise Society came together mindful of Law No. 90/053 of 19 December 1990, which governs associations in the Republic of Cameroon.

We recognised that unity, cooperation, mutual assistance and collective action are essential for the social and economic advancement of individuals and communities. We saw the need to promote financial empowerment, responsible savings, welfare support, entrepreneurship, community development and social inclusion among members.

We believe that transparency, accountability, integrity, participation and teamwork form the foundation of a strong and prosperous society — and we were determined to establish a trusted community through mutual support initiatives, savings schemes, welfare programmes, charitable activities, educational opportunities and sustainable development projects.

On that basis the founding members associated themselves and adopted the Constitution and Memorandum of Association that governs our affairs today.
